Writing is my passion, as is obvious from this site. If content is king,
my site would be royalty -- vast amounts of text. I write poems, stories,
essays, songs, websites, whatever I have the chance to do. Put a pen in
my hand, and I'll do more than spill ink all over my fingers. (Although
I'll probably do that, too.)
Admittedly, my writing is hit or miss. Looking at some of the work posted
on this site makes me cringe, especially the earliest stuff. However,
I want not to just use this site as a showcase for my best work but also
to show how my writing style has developed. I can't say I still believe
in everything I've supported or claimed in these writings. For example,
for anyone whose read my original Reaching
Beyond essay on this site, the one from my freshman year of high school,
I must tell you, I don't really plan on living on Mars anymore. Or, at
least, I don't go around telling people that. Anyway, my writing from
sixth grade on is included on this site, in three major categories: Poems,
Stories, and Essays. I can't guarantee you will like everything
you read, but there are some diamonds in the rough. (But maybe not that
cliché.)
My writing is very personal -- not because I write about myself (usually)
but because I put a lot of myself into what I write. I admit it, then:
I don't take criticism well. But don't let that stop you -- send me your
comments at c-fischer@northwestern.edu.
