A Day at School
The radio alarm
Is blared in my ears.
The snooze button
Is hit more than once.
When I am finally awakened
I do the same things
That I do
Every school morning.
I then am raced
To the corner bus stop
By my brothers
Whose energy
Seems endless.
At school
We are met by teachers.
I am led by them
From class to class.
I sit and am lectured
On all sorts of things.
At the end of the day
We are dismissed class by class.
We are walked to our buses
In lines straight as arrows.
We are told to be silent;
Not everyone listens.
We go home for a rest
Before the cycle
Is started
Again.
