Chance of Showers

The world weeps for you tonight
Pours its sorrows into the thirsty earth
It aches for you, with you
Its tears echo in your empty soul
It cries when you cannot
Mother Nature comforts her child
She knows you
And the world weeps for you

The sky bleeds to spite you tonight
Laughs as it trickles down gutters
It frustrates you, destroys you
Its cackling inflames your angry brain
It rejects you needs
Mother Nature abandons her child
She hates you
And the sky bleeds to spite you

The rain falls despite you tonight
Flows into the next step of a mechanical process
It ignores you, distances you
Its indifference gnaws at the dark corners of your consciousness
It will continue when you do not
Mother Nature singles out none of her children
She forgets you
And the rain falls despite you
