Ducking Destiny
Future is lost on the young
Though their dreams soar
They lose reality in the haze
They can't see the people
Bearing their names in thirty years
Impatient for tomorrow
But never staying for it
Narcotics kill the nameless pains
Fearful, ducking from destiny
Vague fears haunt sleepless nights
Nights together but always alone
Staring at relentless shadows
Staring at obstinate clocks
Staring at a future without clarity
Cowering before the blur
Ever seeking a child's ideals
Must make the world right again
Hopeless fight against change
The young will feel the enemy
But be too weak to resist
