Monster Under My Bed
There is a monster under my bed;
Its body is black, and its eyes, bright red.
It creaks and sighs and threatens to roar--
But when I turn on the light, it's not there anymore.
There is a monster under my bed;
It groans and moans and I wish to be dead.
I shiver and shake as it slides 'cross the floor--
But it disappears when Mom opens the door...
Somehow.
There is a monster under my bed;
Its cackling and screaming fill me with dread.
It threatens to pounce when I shut the door--
But when I hug teddy tight, it's not there anymore.
There is a monster under my bed;
I'm afraid that soon it will need to be fed.
It howls and wails like demons of lore--
But when morning comes, it's lost its horror...
For now!
