Shackles
We will rise above the shackles put upon us.
We will lift our voices to the skies
In one unified cry.
The restless furies of a thousand years
Will froth and boil,
Building pressure, shattering the gilded cages
That enclose us, mind, body and soul,
And crystal shrapnel from a million explosions
Will blanket the ground we walk on.
We will rise up,
And we will see the world for the first time,
The world we fought for,
The world we died for--
Then we will ask,
Was it worth it?
And we will rebuild our own cages.
